Marginal decreases in the Electric market whilst Gas rises for the first time in a little while (week to week).
Gas: NBP gas contracts traded higher on Friday, supported by the gains within the carbon markets and reduced Russian gas flows to Europe which put further pressure on European storage inventories. This morning, NBP gas contracts have opened higher as the threat of an invasion into the Ukraine by Russian forces deepens.
Power: UK power contracts strengthened on Friday, tracking the gains within the carbon markets with further upside generated by the gains within the NBP gas market. UK power contracts have opened higher this morning mirroring the upward movement within the NBP gas market as tensions between Russia and the West escalate.
Today, the Electric wholesale prices have opened up 2.83% Lower than this time last week with Gas Increasing by 5.37%
